that excites. ♪ >> shep: the israeli government is now reporting it's trying to pinpoint the source of drone that flew over the country on saturday. israel's air force is said to have shot down that drone and the military reports it was not carrying any explosives. there is no official word on the drone's origin, but security experts are pointing the finger at hezbollah. that's the terror group with strong roots in southern lebanon and the backing of iran. in fact, witnesses say israeli war planes flew low over southern lebanon on sunday in an apparent show of force. ton john hunt is with us. why do israeli officials think hezbollah is responsible? >> first of all, tracking the flight path. according to israeli media, military officials in that country are pretty confident that this drone took off south of siden, the coastal city in lebanon, then flew south over the mediterranean, took a left turn, came in over the gaza strip before heading in over the southern israeli desert where it was brought down. secondly, they point out that hezbollah has a history with drones. they launched one durin

the real internet is very dissatisfying to the government of iran. there is all sorts of stuff on the internet the iranian mullahs do not like so they've been busy closing off bits of internet to the iranian public. you can't use google. now you can't use youtube. you can't use specific sites where the government doesn't like what you can read there or what you can see there. they've been doing that forever. kind of playing with the internet. iran's government is apparently getting tired of managing the increasingly complex patchwork of things they want to block the people in their country from seeing online and so instead they have a genius idea. they are suggesting they may just close off access to the real internet all together and instead build themselves their own internal government approved internet. just for their own country. it's not really an internet. it is more like an iran-ternet. they will build their own separate but equal. ridiculous right? but you can understand that sort of controlling dictatorial impulse here that gives rise to that sort of ridiculousness. i

. this as the spanish government is apparently ready to ask for a full bailout, but is being told to wait by germany. angela merkel is reluctant to put more aid requests in front of her parliament, both sides have denied that story. but it does come just a day after meeting between the eu and sm spanish economics minister. julia is in madrid with her own thoughts on this. you heard jim says it's only a matter of time really, so we just have to work out when. >>> that's certainly what the markets expect. also the message is that it's really difficult for the germans to say, hey, these three separate times on greece, cypress and perhaps on spain particularly after they've just received the banking bailout. the biggest shift seem to be in perhaps the spanish sentiment in this article that they're ready to ask as early as this week. so critical to him. they have to think of a bailout and also the enhanced credit line. it doesn't really make a distinction between the two. but of course the budget that we got at the end of last week suggested that they were laying the foundations of course for aid and of

into january. what happens if we do? think of 1995. we have a government shut down. once the government shutdown, the pressure on both sides was so intense there was a deal in less than three weeks. the pressure when we go into january will be greater than it was then because the economic consequences if the market consequences are more significant. i think it is inconceivable that if we go into january there won't be a settlement in january, early february of the latest. we hit the debt ceiling in february anyway. there has to be a settlement. somebody will have to wait. probably both sides will link to some degree. i've talked a little that to people in financial markets in new york about how they think the markets would react to all this. there would be a lot of nervousness and a lot of volatility in the markets in january. if there is a deal with a few weeks on any deal, clearly retroactive to january 1st the tax cuts that have continued and will remove sequestration. then what i am being told is in the interim the dynamics won't be that significant. now, for the fiscal hawks, many

't have a driver's license, a government-issued photo i.d. could get the michigan state identification card. then the state said that can be used to board airplanes. we need all sorts of forms of identification. then the state changed its mind and said we'll issue a voter i.d. card that's different. only if you can't get the other card. then they changed their mind on that. the judge said i can't be sure. even though the state has now cured a lot of these problems, i can't be sure enough people are going to be able to get the right kind of identification to allow this law to go into effect. i'm going to let the state continue to educate people about the need for photo i.d. i'm going to let the state ask for photo i.d. atle positive, but enjoin the part of the law that requires voters to have photo i.d. people wanted it all put on hold. the judge said i don't need to go that far. there is always the possibility the state could go back to the supreme court on this, but begin how skeptical the supreme court was when they looked at this a few weeks ago, i think it's over. that means that t

of corporate america far more than i trust the government's balance sheet. this is hardly a reckless position and would encourage companies to reward shareholders by issuing and raising dividends. i would actually raise the tax make up for that lost revenue because i'm not irresponsible and reckless. i would actually raise the tax on capital gains. why? you get gains when you sell stocks. i don't want people to sell stocks. i want them to own stocks, not sell them. plus if you raised the tax on capital gains, the company that do these stupid buybacks would continue to do them, continue to waste is the shareholders' money like they do now. put the money in the owners' pockets, not the sellers' pockets, by encouraging saving, not flipping. point number two, we have to clean up these markets. clean up the markets and encourage people on the sidelines to come back in. make them. clean up the stables, like hercules. i would do that by appointing preet bharara as attorney general of the united states of america and have him go after all of these insider traders and crooks that populate the banks. t
